About the Role
A great opportunity for a student to learn a lot about professional software development in an open-source setup.
The Qt Company’s engineers develop the Qt framework, which enables everyone to create applications that run smoothly on many different platforms, from embedded boards to desktop and mobile.
Most of the code is developed in the open, under a high standard set of rules from the Qt Project. At Qt, we develop high quality libraries and tools mainly in C++, but also in other languages like QML and Python. The development is done under Git, under a constructive peer review process.
The largest Qt R&D office is located in Berlin (Adlershof), where we do offer internships for ambitious students that have an interest in a software development career, and at least basic experience with C++, QML, or Python.
Depending on your interests, you might work on
- static analysis to help developers write better QML
- Improve and extend PySide and Shiboken tests, example, and documentation
- Research new tools and application ideas to connect Python and Qt with other frameworks and platforms
- Help us learning and fixing known issues in different Qt modules
If you, furthermore, have at least four weeks of time, we can offer you interesting and exiting projects, where you can hone your development skills and get an insight into modern software development, supervised by one of our local experts.
There is a base compensation for this internship position. Additional compensation might be discussed during the interview depending on your skill set and interest. The future is written with Qt – and this is your chance to become part of it!
